Showerthought: My backyard birch pruning job left me with more questions than cuts

I trimmed some lower branches to clear a path and now the tree looks uneven. Maybe I should have called a pro first. How do you decide when a tree job is too big for DIY?

My birch tree now has a lopsided look after my pruning, like it's leaning away from my bad decisions. I used a handsaw for branches that were way too thick. Now every time it rains, I swear it drips more on my patio as payback. I guess if you're asking if it's too big, you already know the answer. Just save yourself the shame and call a guy with a truck.

Wincing at that lopsided birch story. Using a handsaw on thick branches is a bad idea, I learned the hard way too. My maple still looks angry and drips more on my deck now. Maybe trees do get back at us for bad pruning.

My loppers gave me the same lopsided shame last spring. That feeling when a DIY job goes wrong is honestly soul crushing.
