Spent 2 hours trying to get a stump grinder blade off before realizing I was turning it the wrong way

Was grinding down a big oak stump in Glendale last Tuesday. Blade got dull halfway through. Went to swap it and just could not budge that nut. Wrenched on it for a solid hour, tried breaker bars, even hit it with PB Blaster. Finally called my buddy who laughed and told me some of those older machines have reverse threads. Felt like a real idiot. Has anyone else had a tool fight you that long just because you missed something obvious?

Yeah I spent a good 45 minutes trying to start my neighbor's lawnmower before I noticed the spark plug wire wasn't even connected. Felt like a genius.
