The 90-foot oak on Maple Street looks like a different tree after that crown reduction

Three months ago I climbed it and the whole canopy was this tangled mess of dead weight, but after we took out maybe 40% of the interior growth the light finally hits the lower branches and the owner said she didn't realize her azaleas could even flower like that, has anyone else seen that kind of comeback from just opening up the middle?

That opening up the middle trick works wonders for more than just oaks. My neighbor did the same thing to a big maple over her lawn, and within a season the grass underneath actually stayed green through July because the sun could finally reach it. Funny how just removing the clutter can change the whole picture, makes you wonder what else we're not seeing.
