TIL the difference between removal and extraction from a 70 year old client
Had a sit down with a retired logger up in Eugene last week, he watched me chuck a dead oak and asked why I cut the trunk into 4 foot rounds instead of pulling the whole thing with a winch. He said extraction was for the machine and removal was for the tree, and it hit me that I've been treating every job like a production line. I told him I was worried about tearing up his lawn, and he just pointed at the ruts from his own pickup and laughed. It made me rethink how often I check with the homeowner about access versus just assuming they want the cleanest shot, has anyone else had a client talk you out of your standard move?

Well, checking about access isnt the same as assuming clean for the machine.
