Vent: That one stubborn stump that ate my whole Saturday
Ran into a massive red oak stump from a job back in March. Figured it would take maybe 2 hours with the stump grinder like most jobs. Ended up fighting it for nearly 7 hours because the roots were wrapped around an old septic line nobody told me about. Had to stop and dig out the whole area by hand so I wouldn't bust the pipe. Any of you folks ever run into a stump that just wouldn't quit?

Starts off simple and then just keeps revealing more layers of trouble underneath. Seems like every job has something hidden that you can't see from the surface. Makes you wonder how many other things in life look easy until you actually dig into them.

Oh man, that's brutal. Nothing like a "quick two hour job" that turns into a full daylight sacrifice to the tree gods (and old plumbing, apparently). Hope you at least got a good story and a cold beer out of it.
