Was skeptical about using a silky saw for big cuts, now it's all I grab
I always thought hand saws were for little branches only, but got a Silky Zubat last spring for a 12-inch oak limb. Cuts so fast I ditched my chainsaw for anything under 6 inches. Anyone else switch to manual for certain jobs?

Yeah the "only for little branches" thing is totally wrong. I grabbed a Silky Bigboy for a 10 inch maple limb last fall and it went through like butter. Took maybe two minutes of steady cutting and I didn't have to haul out my Stihl or deal with gas and noise. Honestly I use my silky for anything up to that 6 inch mark now too, it's just so much easier to grab and go. What size Zubat did you get?

You said it went through a 10 inch maple limb like butter, but how long did that actually take? I get that it's easier than dragging out a chainsaw, but two minutes on a limb that size feels like it would test your arm strength pretty good. How's the blade holding up after that kind of use, or do you find yourself sharpening or replacing it more often than you'd like?
