Watching a crane op set a 60 foot oak at the Grand Rapids job changed how I rig
I was on a removal job near Grand Rapids back in 2019 and the crane operator asked me to stop butt-hitching every limb. He said I was loading the sling wrong and showed me how he wanted the choker set. I still use his method on heavy wood and it has kept my cuts cleaner. Curious if other folks rig off the crane op's preference or stick to their own setup.
