Why does nobody talk about how bad pole pruners are for crown cleaning?

I watched a guy tear up a mature oak in Portland last week using a 16-foot pole pruner for interior deadwood and he left stubs everywhere, has anyone else noticed people just default to these things instead of climbing or using a handsaw?

@reeseperez hit it right on the head. That Portland guy was just using the wrong tool for the job. A 16-footer on a mature oak is asking for trouble when a climbing saw or even a good handsaw would've been cleaner and safer.

Honestly gotta disagree with you here. A good pole pruner in the right hands can be way faster and safer for light cleanup on smaller stuff, especially if you're just nipping out a few dead limbs near the trunk. That guy in Portland was just a hack, not the tool's fault.

Right tools matter way more than people give them credit for.
