Wrote off quick release knots as a gimmick until a storm job in Tulsa changed my mind
I always figured those quick release knots were a solution looking for a problem, just extra stuff to learn when a running bowline does fine. Then last month we had a big silver maple come down over a fence in Tulsa and I watched a climber I work with pop his whole rigging setup loose in about two seconds when the limb started rolling on him. That speed mattered, and now I've got two of them in my bag. Anybody got a favorite one for light limbs, or do you just stick with the running bowline?
