Found a Roman brooch pin in my own backyard last month

I was digging a new flower bed behind my shed about 3 weeks ago and hit something metal with my shovel. Pulled out this small bronze pin with a spiral design. I do landscaping so I'm used to finding old nails and junk, but this looked different. A guy from the local history center thinks it could be a Roman fibula from the 2nd century. Has anyone else ever stumbled on something old while just doing regular yard work?

That spiral design sounds like a classic Romano-British style. My neighbor found an old horseshoe in his garden and spent a week convinced it was from a medieval knight, turned out to be from the 1800s.

Yeah exactly what I was gonna ask @veraj53 how did you know it was 1800s and not medieval? Was it the style or the metal type or something else that gave it away?
