My flint knapping demo went sideways, found a 200 year old button instead
Was out near the creek behind my place trying to make a arrowhead like the YouTube guy. Three hours of knapping and all I got was busted rock and cut fingers. Then I moved some dirt to sit down and my hand hit something metal. Old brass button, 1790s style with the fancy weave pattern. Local museum guy said it came off a soldier's coat. Never made a single decent point, but now I got a button older than my county. Anyone else find stuff by accident when their main plan fell apart?
