Paid $340 for a ground-penetrating radar scan, got told to dig on pure guesses
Last month I hired a local survey crew to scan my field in Ohio for buried foundation stones before I put in a fence. The scan cost me $340 and they marked spots where the radar showed 'anomalies.' I dug three of their hot spots and found nothing but roots and an old rusty pipe. Two sides here: either those machines are overhyped for small sites, or I just got a lazy contractor. Has anyone else shelled out for remote sensing and come up empty, or do you think it's worth the price if you use a better team?

Technology promises precision, but people still sell guesses dressed up in expensive gear.
