Shoutout to the old guy who showed me how to use dental tools on a dig

Back in 2019 on a site near Santa Fe, I was struggling to get dirt out of tiny bone grooves without breaking stuff. A retired dentist on our team pulled out a set of old dental picks and scalers he brought from his practice. I laughed at first but those things worked BETTER than the expensive archaeology kits we had. Has anyone else found random tools from other jobs that work great for cleaning artifacts?
