That time I laughed at a cave painting dating claim and got schooled

Back in 2018, I scoffed when a colleague said some Sulawesi pig paintings might be 40,000 plus years old, thought it was wishful thinking with bad samples. Then uranium-series dating came back solid on the calcite crusts and I had to eat my words. Anyone else have a pet theory that got knocked sideways by new methods like that?

@rosebarnes my geology prof once found a 50,000 year old stalagmite in the local cave...
