Blew $60 on a fancy ice cube tray that still gave me cloudy ice

I bought this expensive silicone tray that claimed crystal clear cubes, but after 3 tries they came out looking like dirty snow. Has anyone found a hack that actually works without buying a whole ice machine?

Yeah boiling water is legit, I read somewhere that it's because the dissolved air gets forced out so there's less gas to form bubbles. I mean it worked for me on my first try with a regular tray, the cubes came out pretty clear just with a tiny cloudy spot in the middle.

Saw some post where a guy swore by using boiling water instead of tap. Tried it with my regular tray and it actually worked way better, ice came out mostly clear with barely any fog. Might be worth a shot before you dump more cash on another gadget.
