Daylight savings broke my coffee routine and I never checked the timer
I moved my alarm clock back an hour last Sunday and my coffee maker still went off at its usual time. Thought I was losing it for two straight mornings, standing there staring at an empty pot at 6am. Turns out the machine has its own clock and I never set it after the power flicker during that storm back in March. Took a literal hour of fiddling with tiny buttons to fix it. Why do these things not just sync with the wall clock? Does anyone else have one of these cheap timers that just sits there mocking you?
Ever tried just unplugging the thing for a full minute when you finally fix it? That storm reset messed with mine too, and I found out the clock only sticks if you hold the set button down for like five seconds after you punch in the time. If you just tap it, it goes back to wrong time overnight. I also put a sticky note right on the front of the machine now saying "check clock" so I don't end up in your spot next spring. Pain in the ass, but beats drinking coffee two hours late and wondering why I'm so tired at work.
