I finally switched to a manual lawn mower after 3 summers of gas troubles
My old gas mower spent more time in the shop than cutting grass. I paid $45 for a carburetor rebuild last June and it still stalled on me after 10 minutes. So I grabbed a cheap reel mower for $80 at a garage sale and honestly it's way easier. The cut looks cleaner and I don't have to mess with oil or gas fumes. It takes me about 45 minutes for my 1/4 acre lot instead of 30 but I'm not sweating as bad. Has anyone else dumped their gas mower for a manual one?

@jesse_green55, did you actually try a reel mower yourself or just see one fail in tall grass?

Nah man, a cordless electric is way better than pushing a reel mower yourself.

Did your buddy ever try one of those old school reel mowers though? My friend Mark borrowed one from his dad last summer and it was a disaster... the grass was too tall and it kept getting stuck every few feet. He spent like two hours just trying to get the front yard done and gave up halfway through.
