I tried both a $12 plastic drain snake and calling a plumber for my kitchen sink. The difference was huge.

Shows how often the cheap fix just wastes your time.

Yeah, and @veraj53 is right. It's like when you try the cheap store-brand glue for a quick repair, and it just falls apart in two days. You end up doing the job twice, spending more time than if you'd just used the right stuff from the start. I've had that happen with a leaky faucet washer, the bargain bin one swelled up and made it worse. The cheap fix feels smart until you're back at the hardware store a week later.

Ugh, totally. My buddy tried to fix his wobbly chair with some dollar store epoxy. Held for like, three days. Then it snapped and he basically ate the floor. Had to buy a whole new leg kit. @veraj53 nailed it, that cheap stuff just burns a weekend. Now he's got a tube of the good stuff in his junk drawer, learned the hard way.
