I was at the grocery store in Springfield and saw a checkout line trick that changed my whole routine

This older guy in front of me at the Kroger on Main Street had his cart perfectly organized with all the barcodes facing up, heavy stuff first, and cold items together. He was done in like 90 seconds flat. I used to just throw stuff on the belt and it always took forever. Now I sort my cart the same way every single time and it's way faster. Does anyone else have a specific store routine that saves a ton of time?

Honestly that sounds like way too much work for a few seconds. I just want to get out of the store, not prep for a speed run. My routine is putting the divider down fast so the next person can start.

That guy at Kroger is basically a checkout line ninja.

Ever wonder what the checkout line ninja does with all that extra time? I bet @jesse_green55's guy has a whole system, like putting all the heavy cans on the belt first so they bag together. He probably flips the cereal boxes barcode-up and already has his card out. That's not just fast, that's a whole quiet art form right there in the grocery store.
