Just realized I was peeling bananas from the wrong end for 28 years
Saw my buddy at the gym last week crack one open from the bottom like it was nothing. I stood there staring at him while he ate it, totally confused. Turns out there is a little stem tip that makes it pop right open if you squeeze it. Ive been mangling bananas my whole life and now I feel like an idiot. Anyone else have that moment where you found out a basic life thing was way easier than you thought?

Wait, hold on, you're not peeling from the wrong end. The stem end is the top, that's the normal way to do it. The thing your buddy did is just the easier trick, not the "right" way, you know? I mean, you weren't wrong, just less efficient. But honestly, the real game changer for me was learning you can just snap the stem and use it to pull the peel off in one strip, so you don't have to squeeze anything. Plus, the bottom end is the one that gets bruised, so opening it from there is kind of hit or miss anyway. So don't feel like an idiot, you were doing it the classic way, just not the lazy way.

Man, you're totally right @juliashah, the snap trick is the real pro move... I've been fumbling with stems forever.
