My neighbor told me I was folding fitted sheets all wrong

She watched me struggle for like 5 minutes then showed me the 'tuck the corners into each other' method. Took me 2 tries to get it right but now they actually stack flat in the linen closet. Anyone else have a neighbor who changed a basic chore for you?

And then you realize you've been folding socks wrong your whole life too.

The whole sock folding thing is a gateway to realizing you've been doing a bunch of other stuff inefficiently too. Next thing you know, you're Googling how to properly load a dishwasher or fold a fitted sheet (which is still impossible, by the way). It's like a weird cascade of "oh crap, I've been wasting my life" moments.

My buddy Dave had this older neighbor who watched him loading the dishwasher for like two weeks before she finally tapped on his window. She came over with a coffee mug and showed him how to face everything inward and put the silverware in alternating directions. He called me that night all frustrated because now he couldn't stop noticing how badly everyone else loaded their dishwashers. Last time I was at his place, he actually pointed at his clean dishes and said "see, no water spots.
