My neighbor's 2 minute rule for the junk drawer actually works

She said if you haven't touched something in that drawer since the last time you moved, toss it, and I pulled out 14 dead pens and 3 chargers for phones I don't own. Anyone else got a simple rule like that for the drawer that eats everything?
