Showerthought: The park on 5th Street went from clean to a total mess in just two weeks after they took the trash cans out.
I walk my dog there every day and the amount of litter now is crazy, so has anyone found a good way to get the city to put cans back without just complaining online?

Kelly_craig has a point about people just being lazy, but is a messy park really a crisis? It's just some litter, not a toxic spill. People can carry a coffee cup for a few blocks.

Taking the cans out seems like a weird choice, but is it really a crisis? People managed to hold onto their trash before they had a bin every ten feet. Maybe the problem is just a few bad apples tossing their stuff, not the lack of a can.

Exactly, it's not like trash cans are a new invention. People used to carry stuff home or find a bin without making a mess. The real issue is some folks just don't care where their garbage goes. Removing cans just punishes everyone for the lazy few, but maybe it forces them to be responsible. Still feels like giving up on fixing the actual behavior problem.
