The bus stop bench in the rain made me see my whole commute differently

Tbh I was standing at the 5th and Main stop last Tuesday, soaked because I forgot my umbrella again, and this older guy next to me said "the bus is never late, you're just early." It hit me that I've been stressing over a 4 minute window every morning for like 2 years. Now I just leave my apartment 10 minutes later and bring a book instead of checking the app every 30 seconds. Has anyone else found that giving up the fight against waiting actually made their day better?

Isnt it wild how one tiny thing can flip your whole view like that? Tbh I think we all build these invisible walls around the small stuff, like waiting and traffic and slow wifi, and then one day something random shows us the wall was never real. I started doing this thing where I just accept the grocery line will take forever and I look at the weird stuff people buy instead of getting mad. Same with red lights, I used to curse them, now I use them to check my posture or just breathe for 10 seconds. Once you stop fighting the small gaps in the day, they turn from dead time into free time. It sounds dumb but it makes the whole day feel less like a race.
