The neighbor who showed me how to shut off my water main at 11pm
My water heater started leaking all over the garage floor last Tuesday and I had no clue where the shutoff was, so I knocked on Ed's door and he walked over in his slippers. He showed me the valve behind the boxwood bush and said his own dad had to learn the same thing the hard way back in '89. Do most folks around here know where theirs is, or am I the only one who waited for a flood to find out?
Pretty sure most people have no idea where theirs is until something goes wrong. Honestly I'd say waiting for a leak is kind of the norm, not the exception. Ed sounds like a solid neighbor for coming over in his slippers at 11pm though.
