The timer on my phone fixed my laundry problem for real
I used to guess when the dryer was done and always pulled stuff out too late. Everything came out wrinkled and smelled musty. My neighbor Pete saw me hauling a load back upstairs for the third time last month and told me to just set a timer for 40 minutes the second I start the machine. Sounds dumb simple, but I never did it. Now I walk down right when it buzzes, grab everything warm, and fold it on the spot. No more re-washing towels. Has anyone else found a dumb little timer trick that saves a chore?

My buddy Marcus had the same issue but with his slow cooker. He kept forgetting he started it and would come home to burnt chili or whatever. One day he set a phone alarm that said "TURN OFF THE CROCK" and it went off during a meeting, so he had to pretend his phone was broken and walk out. After that he started setting the timer on his watch instead, which vibrates quietly. Now he never ruins dinner and his coworkers stopped giving him grief about it. It's wild how a little buzz at the right second can fix something you've been screwing up for years.

The "TURN OFF THE CROCK" alarm is hilarious, but honestly, slow cookers are kinda forgiving. They don't really burn stuff unless it's been way too long or there's no liquid left. Wrinkled towels are way more of a loss than slightly overdone chili, if we're being honest.
