Dryer sheets leave a waxy film on everything, and that film can actually trap moisture against the metal instead of keeping it off. A better fix is a couple of those little silica gel packets tossed in the drawer, since they soak up the damp air without making your tools smell like a laundry aisle. I ran the dryer sheet trick for a month and ended up with greasy sockets and a headache, so it wasn't worth it for me.
