Why does everyone load the dishwasher wrong at my house
I've watched three different people put dirty plates in without rinsing them first. Then they stack bowls on top of each other so the water never gets inside. Last week I pulled out a casserole dish with dried cheese still stuck to it from Tuesday. How hard is it to just scrape your plate off before putting it in there?

The bowl stacking drives me nuts. My roommate piles three bowls together and acts surprised when the one on the bottom comes out with oatmeal crust still in it. Then there's the guy who puts the spatula in handle down so the blender part traps all the food bits. Or the person who crams the colander on the bottom rack upside down. It's not a game of Tetris, people. Rinse your plate for five seconds and put things in so water hits the dirty parts. Simple.

Oatmeal crust is a pain to scrape off even when you're doing it on purpose, so that part I get. But the colander thing? It's a colander. It has holes. Half the time I put mine upside down just to get it out of the way and it still comes out clean because most of the food falls through anyway. People act like dish loading is some kind of sacred ritual. Rinse it off, shove it in, let the machine do the work. Half the complaints about dishes are really just complaints about having roommates.
