After a week here, I think our anything-goes policy is backfiring
So many threads start with a vague line. No details, no background. The answers end up being useless guesses. From my deliveries, I know clear addresses get packages where they need to go, same idea for posts here.

Honestly, vague posts just waste everyone's time. If someone doesn't give the full story, replies end up all over the place. Seen it before where a thread with no details turns into twenty guesses instead of real help. Might help to ask for examples or background right in the rules.

Actually the worry about looking dumb might be why people post vague stuff in the first place. Like @henry_murray1 is right about the mess it makes, but maybe some folks are scared of posting a long story and getting torn apart. So they give nothing, hoping someone will just magically guess. Ends up with everyone wasting time fixing it over and over in the comments.
