Appreciation post: my 1998 Civic finally died on I-5 outside Tacoma and I had to problem solve on the shoulder

Last Friday my trusty 1998 Civic lost all power right past the Fife exit on I-5 and I sat there for 90 minutes waiting for a tow. I dug through my glovebox, found nothing useful, and ended up calling my uncle who walked me through checking the battery cables over the phone. What do you guys keep in your car for moments like this, because clearly my emergency kit was a joke?
