Boxed myself into a corner at the Dallas print shop last Tuesday
I was trying to rush through 200 business card orders and my press kept jamming from the thick stock. Turns out I had the paper tension way too tight, and a veteran operator named Frank showed me the trick after I'd already ruined 50 sheets. Has anyone else had a mentor step in at the worst moment and save a big run?

Oh man, does that bring back memories? I had a similar thing happen at my old shop in Austin. I was running a rush job on some weird textured paper for a fancy restaurant's menus, and I had the feeder cranked way too tight. Must have ruined a whole stack before my coworker Dave walked over, shook his head, and showed me how to back off the tension by like a quarter turn. Saved my butt on that run, but I still felt dumb for wasting all that paper. It's funny how the simplest trick can make all the difference when you're already stressed.

Right? @stellachen always the little stuff that gets you when the pressure's on.

Bet that Dave learned it the same way from someone who saved his hide once too.
