Can We Talk About The $150 I Just Threw Away On A Bluetooth Speaker?

I was at Best Buy last Saturday and fell for one of those fancy portable speakers with all the hype. Paid $150 for it because the box said it had 20 hours of battery life and deep bass. First day, it sounded fine, but by day three the battery barely lasted 4 hours. I tried to return it and they said I needed the original packaging, which I had already tossed. Now it sits in my drawer playing music for maybe 45 minutes before dying. Anyone else get burned by a big box store return policy like this?

HOLD UP, you tossed the box? Oh man, that hurts. I did the exact same thing with a pair of headphones last year. Walked right out of the store, threw the box in the recycling bin at the parking lot, and then two weeks later the left ear just went silent. Best Buy's policy on that boxes thing is no joke, they act like you committed a crime if you don't have every single piece of cardboard. They really need to put a big warning sticker on the receipt or something, because who keeps a cardboard box sitting around for a month? It's like they want you to fail the return.

Learned that lesson the hard way too. Now I take a photo of the receipt and the serial number on the box before I even leave the parking lot, just in case.

Right?! They really should print it right on the receipt... I did the same thing with a laptop charger, tossed the box and then couldn't exchange it when it stopped working a month later.
