I was sure I knew the best way to handle a tough question until my friend asked me one last night.
We were talking about his job search, and he asked if he should be honest about being fired from his last role. I told him to always spin it positively, no details. He pushed back, saying that felt fake. So I looked it up and found a career coach's video that said being briefly honest, like 'It wasn't a good fit, but here's what I learned,' can build more trust. I suggested he try that framing in a practice interview, and he said it felt way better. Has anyone else found that a little honesty works better than a perfect story?

That's basically what I tell clients facing job interviews - a quick honest admission shows you're self-aware, then pivot hard to what you learned and how you fixed it. Keeps it real without sounding like a scripted robot.
