PSA: asking the obvious question saved me $400 on a repair
My washing machine kept throwing an error code every third load. I spent two days reading forums and trying fixes, then finally called the support line and asked if there was a known issue. Turns out there was a recall on the drain pump, and they sent a tech out free. Why do we always assume we have to figure everything out ourselves before just asking the dumb question first? Anyone else burned time on something that would've been a 5 minute phone call?

Ugh, my buddy Dan did this exact thing with his fridge. It was making this weird clicking noise and he spent a whole Saturday watching YouTube videos and taking the back panel off. He even ordered some $60 part online. Turns out the compressor had a factory defect and the manufacturer was doing free replacements. All he had to do was call the number on the sticker, took him like 10 minutes. He still has that useless part sitting in his garage, lmao. I swear we all have that urge to fix it ourselves first.
