Shocked by how many steps a waiter actually walks in one shift

My friend works at that Italian place downtown, Che Figata. She wore a fitness tracker last Saturday. 14 miles in 8 hours. I thought she was messing with me. Has anyone else checked their steps during a busy shift? Curious if other restaurants are the same.

Wonder what the real difference is between front of house and back of house steps. Your friend must be dying by hour five. Does she feel it more in her feet or her lower back honestly. Ive been on my feet for ten hours laying tile before and thats bad enough but at least im not weaving through tables with hot plates. Has she checked her shoes situation too. Because bad insoles can make 14 miles feel like 20.

Dang, that's wild (and honestly kinda makes my knees hurt just thinking about it).
