Spent $45 on a cheap thermal scope for critter control. Worked great for exactly one night before the display went fuzzy.

Bought a no-name thermal monopod off Amazon to spot raccoons getting into my garbage cans at night. First use was perfect, second night the screen got all pixelated and useless. Anyone else have luck with a budget thermal that actually held up?

Spending $45 on a thermal scope is basically buying a toy, not a serious tool. If you're just spotting raccoons in a trash can, a fuzzy display is annoying but it's not the end of the world. Skip the cheap stuff and grab a halfway decent option from a known brand instead.

Yeah, that fuzzy display problem is pretty common with the cheap ones. The sensor or the screen connection just isn't built to last. I'd try the AGM Global Vision or even a used Flir if you can find one, they hold up better for not much more money.
