The day my key fob died and I changed my mind about spare keys
My car's key fob stopped working last Tuesday outside the Kroger on 5th, and I had no spare in my wallet. I always thought carrying a physical key was outdated, but after waiting 45 minutes for roadside assistance in a cold parking lot, I changed my mind. Anyone else start keeping a backup after something similar bit them at a bad time?

...and that's exactly why I now have a spare zip-tied inside the gas flap, which is great until I lock myself out and have to explain to a tow truck guy why I'm digging at the car with a nail file. I figured I was being clever, but really I just traded one cold parking lot for another, plus the shame of getting my own DIY solution wrong. The worst part? I still haven't actually used the stupid thing, so I'm basically carrying a tiny metal security blanket that I'm too stubborn to trust.
