Trying to fix a weird forum bug cost me a whole weekend

I was setting up a new 'Ask Anything' section on my local community board and the 'post anonymously' option just would not work. I thought it was a simple plugin conflict, but after 12 hours of checking code, it turned out to be a single line in the theme's CSS that was hiding the button. I had to manually override the style rule to get it to show up. Has anyone else had a theme completely break a core forum feature like that?

Feel your pain on that one. Those hidden CSS gremlins are the absolute worst. Glad you finally tracked it down after all that time.

It's like that moment you finally find your keys in the last pocket you check. The whole day feels broken until that second. I swear this happens with everything now, not just code. My car makes a weird noise for weeks, then it just stops. The internet cuts out until the repair guy shows up, then it works fine. Feels like the universe just hides tiny problems to test us. Finding that one CSS rule must have felt like winning the lottery.
