Got my first clear shot of the Andromeda Galaxy last Tuesday

Been trying for 2 months with my old Celestron and a phone mount. Finally got a night where the moon wasn't washing everything out at the lake near my house. Only got about 20 frames before the neighbor's dog started barking at my tripod. Has anyone else had a random clear night that just lined up perfectly?

Oh man, that is such a cool feeling when it all clicks. I mean, I've had nights where I'm out there freezing and everything goes wrong, but then sometimes the sky just feels like it's cooperating with you for once. Your neighbor's dog thing is a tragedy though, I swear pets know when you're trying to do something important. My cat once walked right through my whole imaging train while I was focused on Jupiter. But yeah, that first real clear shot is a win no matter what.

Easy there @milessmith, it's just a photo of a rock in space.

Honestly that cat story made me laugh out loud. I was out trying to get a shot of the Milky Way last summer and my dumb dog decided to chase a rabbit right through my whole setup, knocked my tripod over and everything. Pets definitely have a sixth sense for ruining the perfect moment.
