I stacked 50 frames of Jupiter and got a weird green blob

I was trying out a new stacking method in AstroPixelProcessor with some data from my 8 inch scope in my backyard. Instead of the usual bands, I ended up with this strange green smudge right on the planet's edge. Has anyone else seen this kind of color artifact from stacking software?

That's just a new moon forming.

My buddy got a telescope last year and made the same mistake. He called me all excited about a black spot on Jupiter. Took him a week to realize it was just a shadow from one of the other moons. He felt pretty silly but it was a good lesson. You really have to watch for a while to see the actual movement. Makes you appreciate how tricky space stuff can be to figure out at first glance.
