I used to hate stacked photos until I saw the Orion core detail
Saw a Hubble-style stacked image of Orion last Tuesday on this sub. The detail in the nebula was insane. I always thought stacking was cheating, like you're not really seeing what's there. But then I realized every photo is a bunch of photons anyway. Stacking just means you're collecting more of them. Now I get why people do it. Still not a fan of fake colors though. Anyone else flip on this after seeing a good example?

Wait till you try framing a target with just 30 second subs and then push the total integration past 2 hours. It changes how you plan every session. I was the same way until I stacked the Veil Nebula and saw the faint wispy stuff that looked like smoke on the screen. Just remember to keep the acquisition simple, use the same ISO and exposure for every frame, and you will start seeing details that make the single shots feel broken.
