Just read that the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image shows galaxies over 13 billion light years away.
Found that crazy fact in an old astronomy magazine from the library, and it makes you realize how small we are, doesn't it?

Yeah the "we're so small" thing is a bit much. Saw a show once where they zoomed out from Earth to the whole universe. Felt like my brain shorted out. Could not wrap my head around it. Just ended up changing the channel.

It's a neat picture for sure, but the scale is just a number to me. We're here dealing with our own stuff, and those galaxies aren't affecting my day. It's cool science, but the whole "we're so small" thing gets overplayed.
