Just realized getting one good Milky Way shot took me all summer
I mean, I have to warn anyone picking up astrophotography about the crazy wait times. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I spent the whole summer trying to capture the Milky Way from my backyard. A lot of my plans got wiped out by light pollution or the moon being too bright. I finally got a picture I liked in August after maybe twenty failed attempts. If you're starting, don't set a firm deadline for your first big photo. Stuff will go wrong, and you need to just roll with it. Honestly, the waiting part is almost as big as the shooting part.

Twenty failed attempts just to get one keeper, that's honestly wild to me. I knew it took patience but picturing someone spending whole nights across three months for a single frame really puts it in perspective. It makes waiting for a package seem like nothing.

Tell me about it, the waiting is brutal.

Is it really that bad though? We wait for stuff all the time, it's just part of life.
