Last Tuesday was the clearest night I've seen all year and I almost missed it

I was driving home from a delivery shift around 11pm and noticed the sky was just completely clear, no haze or clouds. Pulled over at a rest stop near the interstate and grabbed my old 8x42 binoculars from the glove box. Spent about 45 minutes just looking at Orion and the Pleiades, saw 4 Jupiter moons with just the binos. It was one of those nights where everything lines up and you forget how tired you are. Made me wish I had my actual telescope with me. Anyone else have a night where the conditions surprised you like that?
