Mojave Desert shoot taught me a battery lesson I won't forget
Last fall I drove out to the Mojave for a night shoot, planning to stack a bunch of frames for a Milky Way panorama. I brought two spare batteries for my camera but forgot my intervalometer's batteries were nearly dead. By the third sequence, the timer died and I lost over an hour of shots in the dark. Now I pack a small power bank and always test every piece of gear at home the day before. Anyone else have a remote location mishap that changed their packing list?

Spare batteries for the intervalometer, now that one's underrated.

Did I just hear someone say spare batteries are underrated, or is that just my intervalometer ghosting me from the Mojave? My packing list now includes a sticky note that says "check the tiny batteries, dummy," so yeah, learned that one the hard way too.
