PSA: I stacked 50 photos of the Andromeda Galaxy and it cleared up the noise a lot

My single shots from my backyard in Phoenix were always too grainy. I tried stacking fifty 30-second exposures using free software called DeepSkyStacker. Has anyone else found a good number of frames to use for galaxies?

Stacking fifty frames is a huge time sink for minimal gain. My best galaxy shots only needed about fifteen good exposures. The software can only do so much with bad data from a light polluted backyard.

Yeah, I found twenty good ones worked better than fifty bad ones too.
