Question about stacking photos from a light-polluted backyard

I thought my cheap DSLR was the problem, but it was my impatience with the stacking software. Took me two months to realize I needed way more calibration frames than the tutorials said. Anyone have a good guide for suburban sky shots?

Thought my gear was trash until I finally tried more darks.

Yeah, I feel that. I spent a whole season blaming my old camera before I figured out I was just being lazy with my darks. The tutorials always say "a handful" but with my orange zone skies, I need like 40 of each or the noise just laughs at me.
