Remember when you had to wait a week for film to get developed to see if your star trail shot worked?
I dug out my old 35mm camera and a roll of 800-speed film from 2005 to try a long exposure of Orion. The whole roll came back blank because I forgot to account for reciprocity failure, something my digital camera just fixes automatically now. Anyone else have a similar 'back to basics' fail that taught you something?

Back to basics" reminds me of the time I tried to develop my own film and ended up with a completely black bathroom.

My first darkroom attempt stained the sink purple for weeks.

Oh man, that brings back memories. I mean, I once spilled a whole tray of stop bath on my mom's linoleum floor. It ate right through the finish and left this weird bleached spot. Took a lot of explaining.
