Rode 5 hours to a dark site, left my SD card on the kitchen counter
Drove up to Cherry Springs last Saturday with my buddy Dan. We planned this trip for a month. Got the mount set up, polar aligned, framing M31 perfectly at 2am. Then the shutter click sounded wrong. Checked the camera and no card. I had my older 16GB card in my bag but it only holds about 40 raw frames before filling up. I had to delete every third shot just to keep going. Got maybe 25 good subs total instead of the 120 I wanted. Stack was noisy as hell. Dan laughed the whole way home. Has anyone else driven somewhere remote and forgotten the one piece of gear that makes the whole trip pointless?
