Spent 3 hours stacking my Cassiopeia shot before I noticed the stars were trailing

I spent three whole nights imaging Cassiopeia last week only to realize my polar alignment was off by a tiny amount. Took me an hour to figure out why the stars looked like little footballs in every frame. Has anyone else wasted a full session because of a simple alignment mistake?

Did you check your polar scope alignment or just wing it with a visual guess? Sometimes even a tiny drift can ruin a whole batch, but three nights stings worse lol. What method do you usually use to double-check your alignment before shooting?

Honestly I just wing it with the polar scope every time. Hasn't failed me yet but maybe I'm just lucky. You use drift alignment?

Yeah I feel you, I always do a quick drift alignment check now before anything.
